The iDiscover demo lab offers the opportunity to experience the use of a mobile guide in a simulated context. For most heritage and tourist organizations, an important issue is which kind of mobile technology will offer the best solution. The demo lab can be configured to mirror the real museum context as closely as possible.
The demo lab can also be used as a test site. It gives us the opportunity to test prototypes early in the development process, without having to provide for the hardware needed when testing on site. These kinds of tests help aligning the technology with the institution’s and visitor’s needs. The latter of course being the end user of the technology.
